Overview:
HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN for a travel assignment in Great Falls, MT. This role is ideal for nurses with strong PCU experience and travel experience who are capable of providing high-acuity care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide care to hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable patients, including pediatrics, pre/post PCI, pacemaker, revascularization, carotid endarterectomy, thoracotomy, CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, DVT, PE, sepsis, and post-surgical patients.
Operate advanced medical equipment including A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, ventilatory support devices, multiple IV pumps, and continuous bladder irrigation.
Administer and manage common IV medications including Heparin, Diltiazem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Dopamine.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and outcomes.
Provide emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients and families.
Precept and mentor staff, act as a clinical leader, and support unit operations.
Provide direct care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning.
Complement Medical-Surgical Nursing Unit staffing as needed.
Qualifications:
Active RN license in MT (or compact state license).
Minimum 2 years PCU experience required , 3 years preferred.
Travel experience required.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
EPNC, TNCC certification preferred.
Experience with central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, NG tubes, short-term ventilatory support, and cardiac telemetry.
Strong critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills.
